Cosmos Sensation Mixed Flowers are incredibly easy to grow, making them perfect for beginning gardeners. Seeds can be started indoors to get a jump-start on the season or sown directly into garden beds once the weather warms. Either way, cosmos will bloom in just under 3 months from the date you sow them.

Blooming Time:

Cosmos Sensation Mixed Flowers usually starts blooming in early summer and continues until frost. Cosmos Sensation Mix is a brightly-coloured blend of cut-flowers with strong stems and consistent blooms throughout the warm months. Cosmos produces multiple flowering stems near the top of the plant. The centre one opens first. As that one fades, clip it out and the side stems will take off more quickly. When they’re all done cut the whole group off above a leaf node to encourage more growth and more blooms.

Germination of Cosmos Sensation Mixed Flowers:

Cosmos seed needs light to germinate, so sow on the surface or cover with vermiculite. The soil must stay moist, so cover the seed tray with a propagation lid or clear polythene bag and leave on a warm windowsill.

Cosmos flowers can be successfully grown in containers. Species plants can grow as much as 6 feet (2 m.) tall, so look for dwarf or compact cultivars for containers.
